National Agriculture Conference 2024

To address key challenges in investment, resource access, and growth within Papua New Guinea's agriculture sector, the upcoming conference, “How Can the Private Sector Facilitate Investment, Land, and Other Resources to Implement the NASP 2024–2033?” will convene experts and stakeholders to discuss collaborative solutions. This event aims to produce actionable recommendations by fostering deeper collaboration, especially within the private sector, to support the National Agriculture Strategy Plan (NASP) for 2024–2033. A critical focus will be on the agriculture sector’s two primary sub-sectors: Livestock, which includes cattle, sheep, piggery, and poultry farming, and Cash Crops, which spans fresh organic produce such as vegetables and fruits, as well as key tree crops like coffee, cocoa, copra, rubber, vanilla, and oil palm. By uniting diverse voices from the private sector and ten commodity boards, this conference seeks to advance sustainable growth in agriculture, setting the stage for stronger economic development and food security across the country.
